That's the neat thing about it, Morag. The minute you think you have it figured out, it changes.

So nice to hear from you.

Hi Michael,

This post got me really thinking about the most important thing my students should learn and I thought I had the answer but now I'm not sure. I'm going to have to keep thinking about it.

I remember Anne fondly from Grade 12 art class. We were at the point of our lives where we were about to part ways from high school and move on to university, college, work, start families and so on. I lost touch with Anne after high school but I remember her levelheaded and pleasant personality. It was so sad to hear of her passing; to be held prisoner by your own body is a punishment nobody deserves.
So I remember "my friend Anne" too, and whenever I read or hear about ALS I think of her. I think back to art class where she sat directly across from me, discussing our teen trials and tribulations while we sculptured with clay and listened to Black Sabbath's "Iron Man"! Those days are gone but never forgotten.
Here's to you, Anne.

Here is a trick. Make the blogs optional and have some fun with them. There will be more and more students coming along who will be delighted that you are using them. Really and truly.

Of course, you must realize these are graduate students who want very much to learn how these tools work.

Here is a link to my podcasts for the class:
http://elocker.emich.edu/ePodcast/podcasts/rss.php?channel=208

You will need to subscribe through iTunes or you can visit my social site at http://edmt592.ning.com to see these videos. I am uploading them right now - a visit to the Sistine Chapel is the first.

Hey, birthday coming up for you, right?
